• Want to Increase Comments on Your Blog? Get CommentLuv

Earlier this week I left a comment on Mack Collier’s blog and it did something really cool. Below my comment it “magically” added a link to to the most recent blog post from MY blog. Check it out:

    how to increase blog comments

I was so taken with this that I had to investigate. It turns out this feature is provided by CommentLuv, a  nifty plug-in (available for WordPress and Blogger) that gives the people who comment on your blog a boost by automatically feeding in their most recent blog post alongside a comment. This adds incentive for visitors to post comments since it brings extra exposure and traffic for anyone who takes the time to contribute to the conversation.

This plug-in must be hot because today I logged into another blog (Digital Book World) and they’re also using CommentLuv!

Of course I’ve had it installed this here on BusinessInfoGuide.com so if you want to take CommentLuv for a test drive, all you need to do is post a comment!

I like this. If I’m really good, I would write a blog post that goes with the theme of your post.

The only problem I have is that I use Disqus and don’t think the two are compatible. But maybe Disqus (hint, hint) will make that an option.

Thank you Stephanie. It’s worth checking out.

    2. Very clever of you to get the jump on CommentLuv.
Also want to congratulate you for getting your book listed as a resource in Michael Larsen’s amazing updated edition of “How To Write a Book Proposal.” Bravo Stephanie,

      Helen

      • Thank you, Helen! Mike Larsen is one of my personal heroes because he does so much to help writers. I’m thrilled to know he mentions one of my books in his excellent book! I will have to buy a fresh copy since I have a much older edition! :)

    3. Hey Stephanie, Thanks for sharing. I’m going to add CommentLuv to my site now. Have a great weekend!

    4. I’d been working on my blog all day trying to figure out how to make it better and easier for my readers. Thanks!

I’m running over and grabbing the code right now.

    5. Yes I am using it on many blogs except my main blog where I use Disqus, it’s a best way to get more comments and reward readers!

How do you search for commentluv blogs related to your niche? I’ve tried searching “comment luv _____ blog” but that doesn’t really bring back strong results. Any tips on finding related blogs?

      • That’s a really good question, and would make a great suggestion to the founder of Comment Luv. I’d love to see a directory of blogs using this feature! I don’t have any other search tips but if anyone else does, please chime in!

I NEED to implement commentluv on my blog, but at the moment I don’t get enough traffic to warrant it. So far it looks like ultimately the best way to get meaningful comments that will deliver much more than any spam comment could. Good job on adding it to the site!

Just to follow up on this, I added commentluv! Already seeing a big increase in comments – useful comments as well, not spam. Thanks!

The CommentLuv plugin is great if you run a very socially orientated blog/website. For others not so much.
You can increase the commenting incentive by also installing the KeywordLuv plugin. Both plugins go hand in hand.
      Tammy

    11. Wow i am excited about this commentluv plugin. anything that will increase traffic is a good thing. is it a premium plugin or is it free?

    12. I just checked out comment luv and also another plug in called keywordluv. I am going to add one of them to my blog Both are great tools for promoting your blog and getting more comments. Thanks for the info

    13. I just installed commentluv on my blog as well… Looking forward to seeing traffic increases!

I love comment luv and apparently its one of the “must have” plugins for any internet marketer as it boost traffic even though right now in my blog is not showing due to some technical issues with database table missing. However i do recommend it :-)

    15. I have heard so much positive comments about this plugin..surely it will be a nice tool to add to my toolbox. Thanks Stephanie for the information!

    16. More and more bloggers are installing commentluv, definitely not a spam. It has been proven and I’m happy you’re one of us..

    17. Sam DavidsonNo Gravatar says:

Commentluv will definitely get you more comments on your posts. The only problem is that you get a lot more ‘spam’ comments, such as Nice Job or Great Post. Many don’t even read the article or post that they are commenting on.

Have you had to delete a lot of spam comments since using Commentluv? I’d like to use it on my site, but I’m afraid of having to constantly delete spam comments.

      Thanks, Sam

    18. Commentluv is fantastic for increasing your blog comments and turning your blog from a ghost town to something that has got a bit of a community.

    19. I did not realise that this was a plug-in, I thought it was a blog actualy thing like word press.

This is awesome as I love wordpress and being able to download this onto WP will mean I get the best of both worlds.

    20. well thinking of leaving disqus now and jumping on the comment luv band wagon……………..wonder if it will work……..

    21. Commentluv is a great way to increase your comments on your blog and increase the traffic, thanks!

    22. Sara CanadayNo Gravatar says:

Thanks for sharing this tip Stephanie. Your tweet today caught my attention. I’d like to boost the participation on my blog. Unfortunately, I don’t use WordPress. Any compatible plug-ins for Typepad that you know of?

    23. Vicki HudsonNo Gravatar says:

Another good tip from you! A definite retweet today.

    24. Thanks for the tip. I’m actually thinking of just adding commentluv in my personal blog as well.

    25. Thanks for helping all us newbies out. I would like to put commentluv on my blogger site. Is this possible. You mentioned it along with WordPress but I don’t see it inside the plugins like I do for WordPress.
