About Us
Greetings and thank you for visiting BusinessInfoGuide.com!
My name is Stephanie Chandler and I spent 11 years in the Silicon Valley before fleeing corporate America to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams. In 2003 I launched my first business–a 2800-square foot book store in Sacramento, CA. Most of my friends and family thought I was crazy to give up my software sales career, but it was the best decision I have ever made!
During that time, so many people said to me, “I wish I had the courage to do what you did.” I was inspired by their frustrations and wanted to show them that there could be life after corporate America and in response, I launched www.BusinessInfoGuide.com, a directory of resources for entrepreneurs, in 2004.
Though there are many websites for entrepreneurs out there, I wanted my site to be different. I compiled hundreds of links to useful information, built a directory of articles written by industry experts, and created industry-specific resource guides for topics such as starting a pet services business, opening a gym/fitness center business, becoming an infopreneur, and many more.
Admittedly, when I left corporate America, I knew that I wanted to be a writer. I thought that I would end up writing novels from the back of my store, however, I quickly realized that I was a lousy novelist!
Toni Morrison once said, “If there is a book you want to read and it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” I took this advice to heart and discovered a new passion for writing business-related books:
LEAP! 101 Ways to Grow Your Business (Career Press, September 2009)
The Author’s Guide to Building an Online Platform: Leveraging the Internet to Sell More Books (Quill Driver Books, May 2008)
From Entrepreneur to Infopreneur: Make Money with Books, E-books and Information Products” (John Wiley & Sons, Dec. 2006)
The Business Startup Checklist and Planning Guide: Seize Your Entrepreneurial Dreams! (Aventine Press, September 2005).
My articles have been seen in dozens of publications including Entrepreneur, Home Business Magazine, Small Business Opportunities, and countless business journals. I frequently speak at business events and on the radio and have been featured in BusinessWeek, Inc., Entrepreneur, Wired magazine, Sunrise 7 (Australia’s version of the Today Show!), and many others.
With so many opportunities for speaking and consulting that came along after writing the books, I decided to sell the store in 2007. In 2008, I felt like this journey finally made sense when I launched Authority Publishing. We specialize in custom book publishing for non-fiction books. This business was inspired by my own journey as an author and my desire to help others do the same.
I am having the time of my life and have thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns along the path that brought me to where I am today. If you’re considering pursuing your passion, I encourage you to find a way to make it happen. It takes careful planning, long hours, and a commitment to succeed–but the rewards are well worth the effort! And sometimes the road you’re traveling along may change and lead to something even better and more rewarding.
