Thank you for the free download of your book. I can’t wait to start reading it, (the printers churning away as I write this). And that’s what’s magical about finding this information. The weather’s been lovely of late here in England and I shared some time with my brother and we had the usual talk about what would you do if you could.. and without warning I said write. Not just books or articles to promote my website but just write. I love writing, as you can tell possibly from this post. So to stumble accross your website!? Whether my ideas have any substance to them or not doesn’t matter to me, as long as I enjoy the beauty of language. So really thank you for this opportunity to read how it may be possible to get my work published.

      • Hi Steve,
I can relate! When I left my corporate job in 2003, all I knew for sure was that I wanted to write. I thought that meant I would write novels, but I fell in love with writing non-fiction–the kind of books that I would like to read. I hope you find the book helpful and that you pursue what you really love! All the best to you…

Hey Staphenie, My name is Doullah a Namibian lady of 21 years of age and A Student at Triumphant College, Am currently busy writing up a book and i want to publish it next year,i would like to ask you to how would i know that my book will be successful and what can i do to promote my book? Is it very expensive to publish a book?

      • Hi Doullah, You are asking some great questions. To know if your book can be successful, I highly recommend going through the process of writing a book proposal. This will include a competitive analysis of titles in the field. It’s actually a good thing to be able to identify similar books because it shows there is a market for the topic. They key is to figure out how to position your book in a different or better way. A good book on this topic is “How to Write a Book Proposal” by Michael Larsen.

As for book marketing, that’s not a question I can sum up in a paragraph! It takes a lot of work to market a book. I recommend authors start with a blog, engage in social media, conduct radio interviews, write for publications that reach their target audience, and get known with their target audience. I offer a lot of tips over on the Authority Publishing blog. Best of luck to you!
